Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is unlikely to be punished for claims he illegally approached Jaap Stam while the Dutchman was at PSV Eindhoven.
In his new autobiography, Stam claims he met Ferguson at an apartment near Amsterdam's Schipol airport - seemingly against the transfer regulations, which state that a player's club must be approached first.
PSV said they will not pursue the matter - as do the Football Association - but now United face the prospect of Stam launching his warts-and-all book at Old Trafford.
The giant Holland international defender will unveil the book, called Head to Head, next week and will be relieved not to have brought FA charges against his manager.
PSV have criticised Ferguson in light of Stam's allegations yesterday, but they said they will not be taking the matter any further.
With FIFA unlikely to launch an investigation on their own, it means Ferguson is almost certain not to be punished.
The book is being serialised in the Mirrornewspaper.
