Fermanagh 1-9 Donegal 0-11
Fermanagh made the most of the home advantage to beat Donegal in a dramatic Ulster SFreplay at Brewster Park in Enniskillen this evening.
The first half saw atight but scrappy game with the sides almost inseparable for the first twenty minutes.Fermanagh had the wind behind them but couldn't take advantage. Donegal took a two-point lead into the second half.
After the break Fermanagh were looking the better team despite trailing Donegal for the most part. Finally in the69th minute their persistence paid off with substitute Mark O’Donnell scoring the decisive goal to put Fermanagh ahead by a single point.
Donegal couldn’t regain posession of the ball to try and score a last minute point to force extra time, Fermanagh held on doggedly to emerge victorious.
Meanwhile Roscommoncame through a tough test against New York in the first round of Connacht SFC to win 3-13 to 1-9. Roscommon dominated the first half and went into the break with an eight point lead.
New York came out in the second half determined to make their presence felt. They came within three points to put Roscommon under serious pressure.However, Roscommon kept their heads and finished the game out with a ten point margin of victory.
