Fianna Fáil could lose five of their seven seats on Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, according to tallies.
Tallies also suggest the Green Party has lost all four of its seats on the council, with Fine Gael, Labour and Independents making gains.
Fine Gael could take up to 12 seats on the 28-seat council, a gain of three over 2004. Labour, which won six seats last time, looks to have won at least six seats and possibly more this year.
Richard Boyd Barrett of People Before Profit Alliance topped the poll in the Dún Laoghaire ward, while his party colleague Hugh Lewis is in contention in Ballybrack.
Fine Gael looks to have won two seats in the Dún Laoghaire ward, with Labour's Jane Dillon Byrne battling for one of the last two seats.
Just two of Fianna Fáil's seven seats look safe, with the party in the mix for four more in Stillorgan, Dundrum, Dún Laoghaire and Glencullen-Sandyford.
