Support for Fianna Fáil has fallen sharply in the last month while the three main Opposition parties have made up ground, a new opinion poll has shown.
An alternative coalition of Fine Gael and Labour is now only two percentage points behind Fianna Fáil.
According to the monthly Red C tracking poll in today's Sunday Business Post, Fianna Fáil has dropped four points to 38 per cent while Fine Gael has increased support by one to 22 per cent and Labour has climbed two to 14 per cent.
The Green Party, which is holding its ardfheis in Co Galway this weekend went up one to 8 per cent.
The Progressive Democrats also climbed one to 4 per cent while Sinn Féin was unchanged at 7 per cent. Independents dropped 1 per cent to 7 per cent.
The poll was conducted among 1,078 voters in all constituencies across the state last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
