Fine Gael is clinging on to a significant lead over Fianna Fáil, but the Government party has gained back some support, a new poll showed today.
According to a poll by Red C published in the
Sunday Business Posttoday, support for Fine Gael has risen to 35 per cent, compared to 30 per cent for Fianna Fáil. However, the opposition party only added two points to its tally, compared to four points for Fianna Fáil.
This follows a 10 point fall in support for the Government party in the same poll last month.
Support for Labour fell 1 point to 14 per cent, while the Greens lost one point to 5 per cent.
Sinn Féin, meanwhile, slipped 2 points to 8 per cent, and independent candidates saw no change in support.
The poll was compiled from the views of 1,000 voters from across the country last week.
