Financial services firm Fidelity Investments is to create 49 jobs over the next three years in Galway.

Financial services firm Fidelity Investments is to create 49 jobs over the next three years in Galway.

The new research and development centre will be operated by Fidelity Technology Group (FTG).

Fidelity, which first began operations in Ireland in 1996, employs around 300 people in Dublin and Galway.

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin said the centre will be one of the largest R&D functions from a global financial company to be located in Ireland.

"It further demonstrates Ireland's proven ability to provide knowledgeable and skilled graduates with financial and other disciplines," he said.
