The Irish stock market extended yesterday's gains this morning as Bank of Ireland (BoI) shares rose following yesterday's results.
At 11.45 a.m. the ISEQ, at 4,321.72, was up 23 points and closing in on its year high of 4,337.
Bank of Ireland shares were ahead 16 points on €11.68 with volumes of more than 2.5 million shares. BoI stock gained 3.3 per cent yesterday in the wake of its full-year results.
Peer financial stock AIB shares dropped in early trade before reaching midsession five cents down on €13.7. The were more than six million AIB share trades.
Other financial stocks were mixed with Anglo Irish Bank shedding three cents to €7.22 while Irish Life eased ahead 11 cents on €10.41.
Irish building group CRH added 15 cents to €13.58 following confirmation of its acquisition of SE Johnson by its US materials division for $217 million, including debt.
Ryanair shares contributed to the positive trend adding 11 cents to €5.88. Yesterday more than 4.6 million of its shares changed hands.
