Fire brigade rescue two men from Liffey

Two men have been rescued by the fire brigade from the River Liffey, Dublin, this evening.

Gardaítold ireland.comthat the first man had been rescued when the second man "shouted out" and jumped into the river himself, forcing the fire brigade to mount a second rescue effort.

The two men are believed to have been taken to the Mater hospital.

Gardaí said they did not know whether the two incidents were related.
