Stuttgart - The car firm Porsche yesterday said it would join in German industry's compensation fund for former Nazi slaves and would pay off, on its own, those forced to work for it by the Nazis.
Porsche said in a communique that it would pay 10,000 D-marks (£7,633) to those who had worked in its construction bureau, which was part of Volkswagen during the war. The firm yesterday defeated a lawsuit in a court in Stuttgart from a former Nazi slave labourer when the court said the statute of limitations had expired.
