A badly injured fisherman was taken to Cork University Hospital after an accident yesterday on the Emerald Isle, off the Co Cork coast. A fisherman who became ill 12 miles off the Louth coast was taken to Beaumont Hospital.
Four men were rescued from a Co Down trawler, the Audentia, which put out a mayday call at 2 a.m. yesterday, 15 miles off the Isle of Man.
An RAF helicopter and lifeboats were involved, but a trawler rescued the men at 3 a.m. The boat sank an hour later.
