Five members of an ethnic Albanian family have been shot dead in Kosovo, a UN spokesman said today.
UN spokesman Mr Andrea Angelli said unknown attackers stopped a car carrying a family of six on a road west of the provincial capital Pristina and opened fire with machineguns late yesterday.
"There were six people in a car," he said. "Five of them (were) killed and one badly injured. The attackers fired so many times that the car is riddled with bullets."
The victims were all members of the Hajra family and those shot dead included a nine-year old girl. No suspects had yet been arrested, Mr Angelli said.
