Three women and two men questioned by gardai investigating the murder of the journalist, Veronica Guerin, were released yesterday. A further three men and a woman arrested during the same series of dawn raids had their period of detection extended by 24 hours. They are being questioned at a number of Garda stations in Dublin. Another man was arrested early yesterday in the Blanchardstown area.
Following Thursday's raids, a number of files would be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, a Garda spokesman said, relating to drug offences rather than the murder.
