Five people were taken to hospital yesterday after a bus and a car crashed in Firhouse in Dublin. The accident occurred on a sharp bend on Ballycullen Avenue at about 11 a.m. According to eye-witnesses, the car skidded and crashed sideways into the front of the bus, which was almost stationary and had 15 passengers on board.
Firemen had to cut two men, both in their 20s, from the car. They were taken to St James's Hospital, where their injuries were described as not life-threatening.
Three passengers on board the No 49 bus were taken to St James's Hospital, one with a suspected broken arm, the others suffering cuts and bruises.
