A man (33) was killed today when his motorcycle collided with a car near Donegal town. The collision occurred at Spierstown at 10.45am.

Elsewhere an 18-year-old teenager also died earlier when he was struck by a car in Nenagh, Co Tipperary. The incident involving the man occurred on Sarsfield Street at 4.30am.

Gardai have released the names of the two people killed in a fatal road collision in Galway last night.

Proinnsias Nolan (17) of Lehanagh, Castleblakeney, Galway and Thomas O Beirne (56)of Lowville, Ahascragh, died in a three-car collision near Ballinasloe.

The victims died at the scene of the collision at Killure, on the Ballinasloe-Ahascragh road. Three other occupants of the vehicles were injured and taken to Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

A 45-year-old motorcyclist died yesterday in a fatal road collision in Co Antrim. The victim collided with a Vauxhall Astra car on White Park Road in Bushmills around 1.40pm.

A 78-year-old man was killed on Friday morning at Millgrange, Greenore, Carlingford, Co Louth when his car collided with an articulated vehicle.
