The tenant of a Belfast flat where a bomb-making factory was discovered last week was freed on bail in the High Court yesterday. Mr Anthony John McKinley (56), a former pub owner, was said to be no longer living at the flat in Kansas Avenue, off the Antrim Road. He was charged with allowing his property to be used for terrorism.

A prosecution lawyer said police searched the flat on April 6th and found 3,000 pounds of home-made explosives and bomb-making equipment. He said McKinley was not believed to be associated with any paramilitary organisation and had denied allowing his flat to be used by terrorists.
