The trial of former trade union official and adviser to the Government, Phil Flynn, on weapons and ammunition charges was adjourned yesterday following a family bereavement.
The 65-year-old was due to appear before Richmond District Court in Dublin to answer charges of possession of a pen-gun and mini-tear gas canisters without a certificate.
The hearing was put back until November 17th after it emerged that a member of the Flynn family had died last Friday.
The charges relate to a raid on Mr Flynn's Dublin offices last February as part of an investigation into the former trade unionist's links to an alleged IRA money-laundering operation.
