THE education system will have to face radical adjustments in the way it prepares young people for the labour market if Europe is to retain its competitiveness and tackle unemployment, according to the EU Commissioner for Social Affairs, Mr Padraig Flynn.
He also announced he would be providing £21 million from the European Social Fund for projects to identify new sources of jobs. He was speaking after the informal meeting of the Social Affairs Council ministers at Dublin Castle yesterday.
