Web, it was announced today.

The Food Safety Authority (FSAI) said the business names will remain on its website www.fsai.iefor three months from the date the business is deemed to be safe again.

Forty premises selling food have been closed in the State since the start of the year.

Speaking at the announcement today FSAI chief executive Dr Patrick Wall said the move was in the interest of public health.

"Those businesses that have serious breaches of the law and put their customers' health at risk will face closer and have their names highlighted.

"If it takes a name-and-shame approach to bring such operators into line or out of business,so be it".
