Hotel group Jurys warned today the side effects of foot-and-mouth disease will lead to a profit shortfall.
Jurys said Irish hotels have been particularly badly affected by the cancellation of business conferences and social events.
But the group said the shortfall will not be "significantly" below brokers' expectations.
The company said its strategy of locating city centre locations meant the impact has been less severe than might have been expected.
Chief executive Mr Pat McCann said while the trading environment is more difficult following the outbreak of foot and mouth the group remains confident its underlying performance will continue to be strong.
"We have a balanced business mix in our chosen markets and are well positioned for further growth following the resolution of this exceptional situation," he said.
Mr McCann said the group's development strategy continues apace, expanding the portfolio base in diverse city locations.
