Hotels and houses were evacuated today as a forest fire raged on a hill near the Turkish Mediterranean resort of Marmaris.
Television footage showed woodland ablaze and strong winds blowing thick smoke across residential areas just 200 metres away in the Marmaris district of Armutalan.
Fire brigades are fighting the blaze from the ground and with helicopters, and hotels and houses nearby were cleared.
The cause of the fire, which broke out around 3pm local time, was not immediately clear.

An official said firefighters were attempting to limit the fire to an area of three to five hectares.
