A former Army sergeant pleaded not guilty yesterday at the Central Criminal Court to the murder of another man in Co Meath last year.
Mr Tommy O'Brien (37), of Milltown Estate, Asbourne, Co Meath, denies the murder of Mr Dermot McKeever (20), at the Milltown Estate on January 1st, 2000.
He also pleaded not guilty to the discharge of a firearm on the same date which it is alleged created a risk of death or serious harm to Christopher Doran, also in Milltown Estate.
Mr O'Brien further denied the possession of a double-barrelled shotgun at the time with the intent to endanger life.
