The trial is to begin in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court today of four men accused of the manslaughter of a drug addict, Josie Dwyer.
Mr Hugh Byrne (33), Dolphin House, Rialto; Mr Mark Cooke (25), Dolphin House; Mr John Fitzpatrick (35), Fatima Mansions, and Mr William Kenny (55), St Anthony's Road, have been charged with manslaughter, assault and violent disorder in the Basin Street area of Dublin on May 14th, 1996.
Five other men charged with similar offences have been remanded until December 3rd.
