Four men have been detained in seperate drugs raids in Galway and Dublin.
Two men were arrested following the seizure of more than €1 million of drugs in Co Galway earlier today.
Gardaí and customs officers discovered the drugs, believed to be cannabis resin and herb, during a search of a house in Loughrea at about 2pm.
The search was part of an ongoing operation in the Galway area. The men were arrested and are being detained in Galway (Mill St) Garda station under Section 2 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Seperately, two men in their 30s were arrested following the seizure of cannabis in Dublin yesterday evening.
The men were arrested after a planned search by gardaí and customs officers on a truck at Broombridge Road, Cabra, Dublin 7 shortly after 6pm.
Drugs worth €540,000 and an amount of cash were recovered in the seizure.
The two men are currently being held at Cabra and Blanchardsotwn Garda stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.
