Gardaí investigating the murder of teenager Daniel McAnaspie are continuing to question four men in Dublin.

The men - aged in their 20s and 30s - were arrested in Blanchardstown this morning.

Two are being held  on suspicion of murder under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act in Finglas and Blanchardstown Garda stations.

The two other men are being detained at Cabra and Finglas Garda stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act on suspicion of witholding evidence.

The decomposed remains of Mr McAnaspie were found by a farmer on May 13th in a drain between two fields about 200m off the old Dublin to Derry road at Rathfeigh, Co Meath. A postmortem revealed he had been stabbed to death.

The 17-year-old was last seen on the street at Whitestown Avenue, Blanchardstown, west Dublin, at about 3.30am on Friday, February 26th.

He was living in Health Service Executive (HSE) care in a house in Donabate, north Dublin, and had gone to Finglas to meet people he knew on the afternoon of February 25th.

One of six siblings whose father died in 1996 and whose mother died in 2007, Daniel could not read or write and had been in the care of the HSE since 2003.

A confidential HSE report into the care of McAnaspie, which  has been obtained by RTÉ, shows there were grave concerns for his safety before he died. It also reveals the young man was moved at least 14 times from March to December 2009.

The document warned that Daniel was becoming increasingly involved in drug misuse and criminality.
