Four men said to have ordered an alleged drugs-dealer out of Newry, Co Down, were given bail in the High Court in Belfast yesterday. They have been in custody for six months.
A Crown lawyer said the men were masked and carrying a gun when they burst into a house at John Mitchel Place in April and told a man he had 24 hours to leave town. A defence lawyer said a forensic report had established the gun was a replica.
The defendants are Mr John Larkin (29), of Fifth Avenue, Derrybeg, Newry; Mr Brian Torley (28), of Raymond Kelly Park, Newry; Mr Lawrence Griffin (30), of Parkhead Crescent, Newry; and Mr Aidan Mathers (30), from John F. Kennedy Park, Bessbrook.
