A shooting incident in Clondalkin, Co Dublin, at the weekend, is the fourth in the area in the past two months, according to gardai.
At about 10 p.m. on Saturday, two shots were fired through the front door and sitting-room window of a house on Leland Road.
A 12-year-old boy was on his own in the mid-terrace council house when the shooting occurred. He was not injured.
According to detectives, the incident may have been drugsrelated, but they stressed the family whose home was shot at "are decent people".
Gardai have suggested antidrugs campaigners may have been involved in Saturday night's shooting.
No one has been questioned about the latest incident but a number of people were arrested and interviewed about the three other incidents in the locality.
Gardai said no link has been confirmed between the three previous shootings and they were not all drug-related.
