Unsettled Liverpool star Robbie Fowler has vowed to stay at the club and fight for a regular place in Gerard Houllier's starting line-up, it was reported today.
Fowler - a scorer in Liverpool's 5-4 UEFA Cup win on Wednesday - has been unhappy with Houllier's policy of rotating his strikers, and speculation has linked him with a move to Arsenal.
But Fowler has said he wants to stay at Anfield and compete with England strikers Emile Heskey and Michael Owen.
"I have never rolled over and given up in my life - and I'm not about to start now," Fowler told the Daily Mail. "I'm not the first person to find himself out of the starting line-up and I won't be the last. It may well happen again, not just to me but others.
"You have simply got to take it on the chin and that is what I've done over the past few weeks," said Fowler, who admitted he was disappointed to start both the UEFA Cup and FA Cup finals on the bench.
"You want to be involved in finals from the first whistle. Any professional would tell you that and I'm no different. Sure, I have been upset at being on the sidelines, but you have to accept it," he said.
"There have been no moans from me about being on the bench. I have never made an issue of it and that tells you something about how I view things."
Fowler said: "As a Liverpool man, it means a lot to me to be part of this club's success and I want to carry on playing a role. There is no room for any big-time charlies at Anfield and I accept that, just as the other lads do.
