THE Northern Ireland Office last night confirmed that a UDA prisoner freed under the terms of the Belfast Agreement has become the first early release inmate sent back to jail.
He was returned to jail earlier this month. The 30-year-old man who was serving a six-year sentence for intimidation had been released in January.
He was questioned after a group of young farmers were attacked outside a chip shop in Co Antrim. Prison service sources said that the incident was not paramilitary-related.
