Large crowds are expected in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, tomorrow for the funeral of Patricia Sheehan (21) who died after falling from an apartment balcony in Tokyo on May 20th.
Ms Sheehan, a model, was in Japan for work but the exact circumstances of her death remain a mystery.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is liaising with officials and investigators in Japan. It made no comment yesterday except to say that it was aware of Ms Sheehan's death and was providing all the consular assistance it can to her family.
Ms Sheehan spent her early years in Enniscorthy and despite moving to London as a four-year-old with her family, kept close ties with the town.
She returned to make her first Holy Communion as a seven-year-old. She was last home in January for a cousin's 21st birthday.
Her modelling career took off four years ago after she finished in third place on the Channel 4 show Model Behaviour, leading to offers of work from various magazines, including Cosmopolitan.
An outgoing person and a keen athlete, Ms Sheehan was also an accomplished artist at the London College of Art.
She is survived by her parents Terry and Elizabeth, her stepmother Kelly, brother Joshua, and sisters Áine, Sinead and Fiona, as well as a wide circle of uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.
The removal to St Senan's parish church is at 6.30pm today, with funeral Mass tomorrow at noon, followed by burial in St Mary's cemetery.
