There was a large attendance in Carlow yesterday for the funerals of a husband and wife, Mr Brian and Ms Orla O'Halloran, who were killed in a three-vehicle crash at Plumplestown, Castledermot, Co Kildare, early on Friday morning. The victims, both aged 28, were laid to rest together in St Mary's Cemetery, Carlow, after Mass at the Church of the Holy Family, Askea.
The O'Hallorans, who lived at Long Mile, Burton Hall, Carlow, were on their way to work in Dublin at the time of the tragedy. Mr O'Halloran worked in the timber trade and his wife was a music teacher at the Mercy Secondary School in Beaumont.
