The funerals will take place later today of the two members of the emergency services who lost their lives while attending the scene of a car crash in Co Limerick in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Garda Brian Kelleher and Michael Liston, a member of the Foynes Fire Service, both died on the Foynes to Askeaton Road, after they were struck by a car while attending the scene of the initial crash.

Both men were married with children.

Garda Kelleher, a native of Upper Quartertown outside Mallow in Co Cork, will be buried following requiem mass at 12 noon at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Dromin near Bruree where he lived with his family.
