Staff at Dublin-based business-to-business network provider Marrakech, are being briefed by management today of cost cutting programme which will lead to job losses at the company.
Up to 40 jobs are expected to go at the Dublin office with further cuts at its overseas offices according to sources close to the company. A spokesman for Marrakech said today that no final decision on job cuts had been made yet but a decision would be made early next week.
The company, which was founded in December 1998 with backing from Mr Denis O'Brien and Mr Leslie Buckley made 15 people redundant in April this year.
Marrakech provides online procurement services via a global network for that facilitates trade between buyers, suppliers and banks. Its client list includes Jefferson Smurfit and Citibank.
The company employs approximately 140 people in software development in Dublin and has offices in London, Paris, Mexico City, Singapore and Boston.
