Armagh All-Ireland winning forward Ronan Clarke was among 12 recipients of Gaelic Players' Association (GPA) scholarships announced at Parnell Park in Dublin this afternoon.

Clarke, named as an All-Star after his contribution to Armagh's championship success, received his award from GPA chief executive Dessie Farrell.

The players' organisation, backed by the sponsorship of sports clothing manufacturers Azurri, was keen to recognise and help some of the top emerging talent around the country.

Other winners included Galway's Joe Bergin and Waterford's Michelle Ross.

Winners were selected based on their commitment to Gaelic games, enthusiasm to develop further as a player and their long-term academic and career aspirations.
