Japanese gaming company Gala is to create 32 jobs in Dublin over the next three years with the establishment of a European headquarters at the Digital Hub.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin said the company was setting up the new office to serve and expand its "growing base of online game users in Europe".
Established in 1993, Gala has become one of Japan's largest operators of "online communities", he said said.
It was listed on the Nasdaq Japan in 2000 and last year acquired multiple Korean game development studios.
The Irish operation will be responsible for localisation, marketing and customer services for European users in each country's local language - starting with German and French.
Gala estimated that the European online gaming market is approximately 30 per cent of the global market.
