An independent British-based airline has announced a new daily flight service between Galway and Manchester. From Monday, Air Kilroe will provide the first direct link between Galway and Britain for six years, with a daily 10.15 a.m. flight from Manchester returning at 2.50 p.m. There will be a fixed return fare of £129, with a flight time of one hour and 15 minutes. The aircraft can carry 18 passengers.
Air Kilroe is owned by a Roscommon man, Mr Tim Kilroe, who was previously a major shareholder in Aer Arann in Galway. He is in the construction business and owns a hotel in Manchester.
