Defence Forces and Garda personnel will escort the funeral cortege on Sunday for the 10 IRA volunteers, executed during the 1920/21 War of Independence, on its route through Dublin.

Traffic will be halted while the cortege passes through the streets of Dublin.

The ceremonies will be attended by over 700 relatives of the men and 1,000 people are expected to attend Requiem Mass at the Pro Cathedral.

The principal celebrant of the Mass will be Cardinal Cahal Daly, Archbishop Emeritus of Armagh who will preach the homily.

Cardinal Desmond Connell will not be present as he is currently in Rome for the World Synod of Bishops.

The Mass will be attended by the President, Mrs McAleese, the Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, every member of the Oireachtas, and other dignitaries.
