The Garda Síochana has launched an appeal for information regarding a hi-jacking which occurred in Co. Laois yesterday afternoon.
A van containing £50,000 worth of computer parts was travelling from Dublin to Laois yesterday when at approximately 2 p.m. it was forced to stop by a Honda Civic car at Clonenagh, Mountrath in Laois.
Three men were travelling in the car, which is on a list of stolen cars in Dublin. They bundled the driver of the van into the boot of the Honda and drove him around for about four hours.
The car was later abandoned at Kilbricken, Co. Laois and the man released. He went to a near-by house and raised the alarm with the gardaí.
The blue Peugeot Boxer-style van in which he had been travelling is still missing and has a 96D registration plate.
