A garda was assaulted and another man was stabbed in Co Wicklow today.
The incident began at 3pm when a 63-year-old man arrived in Carnew station after being stabbed in the neck at a house nearby.
As officers gave him first aid another man, a 30-year-old, arrived at the station weilding a knife and began breaking windows.
When gardai attempted to arrest him a scuffle broke out and the garda, a member of the Traffic Corps, received a blow to the side of his head.

Both the garda and the 63-year-old man were taken to Wexford Hospital where they were detained for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The 30-year-old man is being held in Gorey Garda station in Co Wexford in connection with the incident.
