Gardaí have appealed for information on the whereabouts of a Dublin schoolteacher who has been missing in Connemara since New Year's Eve and who requires medication.

Rosanne Kenny (43), from Rathmore Avenue, Kilmacud, Co Dublin, was on holidays with her husband and brother in Co Galway. She left a hotel in Tully Cross, north Connemara, where they were staying on December 31st. She was driving a green Mazda 626 hatchback, registration number 93D8257.

"We are very anxious to locate this woman," a Garda spokesman said. "She is on prescribed medication and she is overdue this medication at this stage."

A search of north Connemara took place yesterday. Ms Kenny is described as being about 5ft 3in, of average build with short dark hair and blue eyes. She is believed to have been wearing a hip-length coat when last seen.
