The tribunal investigating allegations of garda corruption in county Donegal is expected to run until 2006, according to a Sunday newspaper report.
Tribunal chairman Mr Justice Morris had originally anticipated an 18 month completion period, however a report in the Sunday Business Postclaims that the tribunal will last for another three years, and will cost the State in excess of €30m.
Divergence in evidence, and subsequent cross-examination, are cited as reasons for the longer time span projected.
Mr Justice Morris initiated the work of the tribunal in May 2002.
