Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal stabbing in Dublin early yesterday morning.
A man (24) was stabbed at the Hole in the Wall Road in Donaghmede, Dublin 13, just after midnight. He was later pronounced dead at Beaumont Hospital. Postmortem results on his body are due today.
According to gardaí, the incident began at about 1am in an apartment block on the Hole In The Wall Road. Occupants of two apartments in The Beeches, Gratton Wood, where involved in a row outside one of the apartments, and the disturbance then continued outside the apartment block in an area near a fountain.
The two groups then got into two cars, a silver Ford Focus, and a black Honda Civic, and these cars crashed on Hole In The Wall Road. The victim, who was travelling in the Ford Focus, was then fatally stabbed, gardaí said.
Gardaí are conducting technical examination on both vehicles, and a knife has been recovered. Gardaí are not naming the victim until a postmortem is carried out.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Coolock Garda Station on 01 6664200, or the Garda Confidential Number 1800 666 111.
