Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery at the Liffey Valley shopping centre in Dublin yesterday evening.
Two men entered the Argos store in the at around 6.40pm armed with a small axe and a mallet.
They forced the store manager to go to the cash office and stole a substantial amount of money. No one was injured in the incident.
The two men are described as being in their 20s. The first man is over 6ft, of slim build and was wearing a three-quarter-length two-tone jacket, light-coloured tracksuit, white runners and a black hoodie pulled up. He was wearing a black balaclava.
The second male is about 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build and was wearing similar clothing, but he had a dark tracksuit bottoms. He also wore a dark balaclava.
Gardaí recovered a holdall bag containing the cash, items of clothing and the balaclavas at the rear of the shop.
