Gardaí have requested the assistance of the State Pathologist's office in investigating the sudden death of a 26-year-old man in Waterford city yesterday afternoon.
The body of the man, who is understood to be originally from the Lisduggan area of the city, was found in a house at Bracken Grove, Kilcohan, at about 3.30pm. Gardaí said they are not treating the death as suspicious, but the scene has been preserved and they have requested the services of the State Pathologist's office.
Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis is scheduled to carry out a postmortem on the body of the young man at Waterford Regional Hospital in Ardkeen this afternoon.
Meanwhile, gardaí are still awaiting the results of toxicology tests carried out on the body of 23-year-old Stephen Carberry who died last Saturday in Waterford city.
A postmortem by Dr Curtis concluded that Mr Carberry from Cherrymount did not die a violent death.
Gardaí are hoping that toxicology tests carried out on samples taken at postmortem will reveal what exactly caused the sudden death of the FÁS trainee.
