Gardaí in Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny, are investigating an armed robbery of a post office which occurred this afternoon.
Shortly after 2pm two men wearing balaclavas entered the premises and threatened two female employees with what appeared to be a handgun.
The raiders left with an "unsubstantial" amount of cash, and made their getaway in a green Toyota Land Cruiser with a 98 G registration. The vehicle was stolen in Portlaoise this morning.
This Land Cruiser was seen nearby parked alongside a white Transit Van shortly before the robbery.
