Gardaí are investigating a stabbing incident in which a man was seriously injured at a house in west Dublin early this morning.
Gardaí were called to the house at Riverforest Estate, Leixlip at around 5.30 a.m. and discovered the man in a downstairs room. He had suffered serious stab wounds to his chest and back.
The man was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital at Blanchardstown, where he was operated on immediately. His condition is said to be critical, but stable.
The scene has been preserved for technical examination. Gardaí at Lucan are said to be following a definite line of inquiry.
