Gardai in Limerick were investigating two stabbing incidents in the city centre early yesterday morning. A 19-year-old man, stated to be on his way home to Thomondgate, received multiple stab wounds in what was described as a fracas which occurred at the junction of Dominic Street and Glent worth Street at about 2.30 a.m. A number of people were involved in the incident.
A short time later, another man received stab wounds at William Street after he gave a small amount of money to a man who approached him. The condition of the person involved in the first incident was said to be critical.
