Gardaí are investigating a suspected fatal hit-and-run incident in Co Cavan in which a male pedestrian in his late twenties was killed.
The incident occurred on the Carrickmacross Road near Kingscourt between the hours of 2am and 2pm today, gardai said.
The victim’s body has been removed to Navan Hospital for a post mortem examination.
The road has been closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place at Drumcondrath Road, Kingscourt and Magheracloone Cross, Carrickmacross.

Gardaí wish to speak to anyone who may have been on the Carrickmacross Road out of the Kingscourt area between 2am and 2pm.
