Gardaí are treating as suspicious the discovery of a man's body in Co Limerick.
The man, believed to be in his 60s, was found dead outside a house in the village of Croom early this morning.
A Garda spokeswoman said gardaí were contacted at around 7.45am following the discovery of the man's body at St Senan's Terrace.
"Gardaí went to the scene and it has been preserved. The State pathologist has been contacted and at the moment we are awaiting her arrival," the spokeswoman said.
She said the man's identity was not yet known and she confirmed that the circumstances of the death initially appeared suspicious.
The body remains at the scene which has been preserved for technical examination by crime scene investigators from the Garda Technical Bureau.
