Denis Brennan was found dead at his apartment in the Bow Bridge complex, Kilmainham on Tuesday morning. He had arranged to meet with a friend on Sunday night and when he did not make contact on Monday, his friend called to the apartment on Tuesday morning and raised the alarm.
Mr Brennan's remains were found in the living room area. There were no signs of a break-in at the apartment. A postmortem revealed that while there were no initial signs of trauma injury, there was bruising to his upper body which is believed to have resulted in his death.
He was last seen alive at about noon on Saturday in the local authority complex where he lived.
