Gardaí searching for a missing Co Donegal woman have appealed for the driver of a car which they believe picked her up to come forward.

Mother-of-four Ms Dolores McCrea has not been seen since she left her home last Tuesday for nearby Donegal town to take part in a women's darts match.

Today, gardaí issued an appeal for the driver of a silver/grey car, similar to a Volkswagen Golf to talk to them.

Gardaí say they have information that Ms McCrea was picked up by this car at Ballybulan between 7.30 p.m. and 8 p.m. last Tuesday. The car headed towards Bridgetown on the Ballintra-Lahey road.

Gardaí have also issued an appeal for anyone who may have seen Ms McCrea's car, a Peugeot 306 with a registration of 97 DL 903 on the same road between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Last week, gardai investigating Ms McCrea's disappearance discovered skeletal remains in a house near Ballintra, Co Donegal.

Gardaí said they were "keeping an open mind" as to whether the body was that of Ms McCrea.
